  1. Hi ... I have a 486 m912 v1.7 pcchips card with keyboard problem. The message that appears when you turn on the card is "keyboard error or k / b error". It always turns on well, but it stays with this message, it did not work the keyboard right and it was giving some strange beeps, pressing a key gave another type of beep and did not answer correctly to the command of the key. I removed the keyboard connector from the card in order to replace it, but when connecting itself without the connector, the same message remains. Could someone have been through this? I know this is very old but I love hardware and would love to solve it. Thank you, I appreciate all of your help. I'm from Brazil!

  2. Keyboard errors are common when connecting USB keyboard to adapter for that 486 motherboard. Suggest switching keyboard for one with 5-pin DIN connector and plug directly to motherboard not an ISA card. Verify none of the keys are stuck down.
